Welcome back to Kids Corner at The Toy Share, our monthly space for simple, playful activities families can enjoy together at home. Each month we share easy ideas that encourage creativity, connection, and hands-on learning using materials you likely already have around the house.
This month’s activities are all about creativity, kindness, and cozy time in the kitchen.
First up, kids can try our step-by-step Learn to Draw: Pizza Slice activity. Drawing helps build fine motor skills, confidence, and creativity, and this fun tutorial makes it easy for little artists to follow along. Once their pizza masterpiece is complete, children can colour and decorate their slice however they like extra cheese, veggies, or even silly toppings encouraged!
With Valentine’s Day around the corner, we’re also sharing a simple homemade Valentine’s card craft. Kids can create cards for friends, siblings, grandparents, or anyone who could use a little extra love. Making cards encourages creativity while helping children practice expressing kindness and appreciation for others.
Finally, we’re adding a cozy family activity with a kid-friendly apple crisp recipe. Cooking together is a wonderful way to build early math, language, and life skills while creating special family moments. Little helpers can assist with measuring, mixing, and sprinkling the crumble topping and everyone gets to enjoy the warm, delicious result together.
