All About Me

January is the perfect time to slow down, reset, and ease back into playful routines and our Kids Corner is here to make that simple and fun. This month’s post is filled with cozy, creative activities designed to spark imagination, build skills, and give kids meaningful ways to express themselves as we begin a brand-new year.

We’re starting with a step-by-step Learn to Draw a Watermelon activity. Bright, cheerful, and surprisingly perfect for winter, this drawing guide helps kids practice following directions, building confidence, and exploring shapes all while creating a fun piece of art they’ll be proud to show off.

Next, head into the kitchen for a hands-on Guacamole Recipe made just for kids. This easy, no-stress recipe invites little helpers to mash, mix, and taste while learning basic kitchen skills. It’s a wonderful way to spend time together, encourage independence, and add a little fresh flavour to a chilly January day.

We’ve also included an All About Me printable that gives children space to share who they are, what they love, and what makes them unique. This activity supports self-awareness, communication, and emotional development and it’s a beautiful way to start the year by celebrating each child exactly as they are.

To round things out, kids can enjoy a Trace the Line Face Activity, designed to build fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and focus. It’s playful, engaging, and great for quiet moments at home.

At The Toy Share, we believe simple activities can create meaningful moments. This January Kids Corner is all about creativity, connection, and starting the year with joy.
